Nexus 7 touchscreen defect surfaces [Video]

There’s been a few complaints on the Nexus 7 as far as the display separating and light bleeding within the display. Now a touchscreen defect has surfaced in which the right side of the screen will stop picking up touch inputs. A lot of people might not notice it since it only seems to be happen after playing a high performance game, as in Tegra 3-optimized, which pushes the hardware.
After playing a such a game for a few minutes, the right side (in portrait mode) won’t pick up a response from your touch or it will detect your touch, but quickly lose the connection. This “dead area” is roughly half the display. This issue won’t be subject to just the game you’re playing as it will be a problem throughout the rest of the UI. Although gaming seems to cause this issue the most, it can be caused from running other applications, but is rare. Since Tegra 3 games are the biggest culprit, it’s possible that it could be an overheating issue.
Sadly there is no fix other than turning off the display and turning it back on which can be annoying, especially if you’re playing a game. Check out the video after the break from Geek.com to see for yourself.
